New Season and New Members!

Introducing 3 new members to our team!

The Wisconsin Flippers welcome Moyang “Steven” Wang (left), Spencer Merritt (center), and Sasha Malinkine (right) to our roster for our 2026-2027 season. These 3 new recruits will join rising captains Josef Volk and Devyn Iglesias-Fuller, along with returning athletes Taras Drozd and Fabian MullerDahlberg as the Flippers gear up for competition!

Meet our New Members!

Moyang “Steven” Wang is a transfer student from China with a background in calisthenics. Though he has no formal gymnastics training, he is a fan of Liu Yang and he has a deep love for the sport of gymnastics. Steven is excited to debut as a gymnast this year.

Studying: Computer Science at UW-Madison

Favorite Skill: Planche

Spencer Merritt previously competed as a Level 10 men’s artistic gymnast with Air Force Gymnastics and Precision Athletics. We are excited to have another All-Around competitor on our team!

Studying: Mechanical Engineering at UW-Platteville
Favorite Event: Floor
Favorite Skill: Double Back

Sasha Malinkine grew up in Shorewood, WI and has experience as a Level 10 men’s artistic gymnast, competing at National Championships and Elite Team Cup in his junior career. He plans to compete pommel horse, parallel bars, and high bar for the Flippers this year.
