Are there any requirements to join?
Students in Madison, Milwaukee, and the surrounding Wisconsin areas will be eligible to compete for the Alliance. All student athletes must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 college credits (or its equivalent for another form of secondary education, such as pursuing a trade). This may be at UW-Madison, Madison Area Technical College, UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University, or other colleges/schools in the area.
If you have a specific situation and would like to know whether you would qualify to be on our team, please contact our head coach Matt Mannino (WImensgymnasticsalliance@gmail.com OR complete the contact form below). Nontraditional and graduate students are welcome.
When did Wisconsin Flippers start?
Practices began Fall 2024 and the Flippers competed their first season in 2025.
Our goal is to join the GymACT collegiate association. We are working hard to build our skill level, roster, and fundraising stores to apply for GymACT status.
We are looking for gymnasts to join our team! Please contact us if you are interested!
What are the benefits of joining?
-Coaching, gym time, and a supportive team atmosphere at no cost to you!
-We cover meet fees, travel expenses, team apparel, and uniforms
-Opportunities to compete against outstanding college talents from all over the country!
-Be part of the movement to revitalize men’s gymnastics in the US!
Where does the team train?
Our team has two locations:
- Madison, WI
- Gym: Madtown Twisters Gymnastics
- This facility is a short bus ride from downtown Madison and the UW-Madison campus.
- Franklin, WI:
- Gym: Altius
- This facility is in a suburb of the Milwaukee area, within driving distance of UW-Milwaukee campus.
The team is coached by Matt Mannino. He is the Boys’ Team Head Coach at Madtown Twisters Gymnastics. Additionally, Matt is the Wisconsin Boys Gymnastics State Chair. Matt has 16 years of coaching experience with men’s gymnastics at all levels, and he has been involved in gymnastics for the last 26 years.
Assistant coaches include Zach Lehmann (Madison location) and Trent Jarrett (Franklin location).

What is “provisional status”?
As a “provisional” or aspiring GymACT program, Wisconsin scores do not yet appear in the Road to Nationals rankings, but we are shown in the official meet scoresheets. Our team is not yet advertised by the GymACT website or official promotional materials. As we grow in numbers and skills, we will be eligible to apply for official GymACT membership status. We need gymnasts like you to help us compete for National rankings!
